Google Maps
I had a GREAT time teaching a three hour Google Geography workshop at the NCCE Conference in Portland. In anticipation of that event, I rewrote much of the Google Geography workshop materials and created a wiki on Wikispaces to organize them all. The intent is that now you can join Wikispaces and add to the content if you'd like. The wiki URL is http://googlegeography.wikispaces.com Please visit and join, then edit like crazy!! If you'd like to check out a map, click HERE to see one I created of our trip from Anchorage, Alaska to our home in Lake Stevens, WA! More Google Geography news. I've been accepted to lead people through a three hour Google Geography workshop at the TIE Colorado Conference held at Copper Mountain, CO, June 23 - 26. This is a great conference in a beautiful location! Did you know you can create a map right inside Google Spreadsheets? If you insert a gadget, then choose the map category it will map all the addresses in any given column in your spreadsheet. The column immediately to the right of the addresses can be used as a tool tip and title of each placemark created. What a great way to map the students in your class. Just get the addresses of each (use a form or download from your school student information system) and you have the map!! VERY COOL!!!
